Kopitiam & Joaquim-
Working may be tiring but is fun isin't it? (maybe not for some :p) I werk in Suntec city convention hall Kopitiam/ Joaquim (under the same company) as a kopi boi/waiter. Nice pay, easy job, nice environment, good fulltimers, gd partimers, free food *grins*, wad else u wana ask for? I LuV mi job! heehee.
Customers & Customer Service-
My job is all about customer service. I think customers deserve wad they paid, even for just a cup of coffee or maybe a toast, we should try to do it as bestest as we can. I myself is not very good in service, but i can see wads good and wads bad service. Yes, customers deserve wad they paid, but it doesn't mean that they are kings/queens. "Customers are always rite" oh this sentence isn't logical. Guess u all noe wad i mean la. I think customers need to give some respect to the ones who serve them too.(My job exposes me to many kinds of customers kiasu ones, polite ones, understanding ones, picky ones etc) Here are some examples, there are more la but these are few i wana highlight.
Example no.1 - Customers who don even to look at u and say thank you after u clear their tables. (okay at least give a nod or something wil ya?!)
Example no.2 - Customers who wans to choose their own piece of food/place/tables. Aiyo.. we already don have seats already don chose lo!(full house case & customers don wana seat outside)
Example no.3 - Customers who dont understand situations. This customer stepped on a piece of vege (accidentally dropped on the floor by a careless customer) and slipped but did not fall.(dance cha cha only) I(was doin other things at tat time) saw her and went over to support her up and she scolded me. I apologized and she didnt appreciate both my help and my apology.
Example no.4 - Customers who think they are very thin. They block pathways we need to use and wont budge when we say excuse mi. Geez.
Im glad to serve customers, especially good/understanding ones. I can serve u better if u are not so picky and stuff la understand? A compromise thingy lo. Customers sometimes make it hard for us to serve them. Sometimes u will feel that there is warmth in this world with customers around.
Example no.5 - There is this Ah PeK who comes to my werk place everyday to drink a cup of coffee or hot water sometimes. He comes everyday and is well aware of all the staffs werking schedules. There was a time when Sara(one of the old bird partimers in KPT) had an operation and couldnt come. The Ah Pek was puzzled why she didn't come fer werk and questions(asking where/ how she is) aunty Annie(another old bird) about her(Sara) almost everyday. After Sara came back he bought tonics for Sara! He is just a regular customer there(not officially friends). That Ah Pek is very old le, but very fit, alittle deafy, can write beautiful chinese. He is sort of the VIP of the company le after that incident.(gets extra care and free drinks) He still comes to KPT everyday and i believe he will do this everyday till he really cannot make it. TO: Ah Pek, Wish u live a ripe long age!

Had a fun time werking in Joaquim today. (Neh.. I like to work in kopitiam more then Joaquim coz of the customer service thingy) Best time I had in Joaquim. Werking with kang and DD from the morning till nite! It not bz when the international buffet starts. Everyone was slacking. Haha. Time passes as quickly as we stole food from the buffet counters! Ate delicious spegetti(did i spell it correct?) and drank peanut soup, roasted chicken and porridge, heehee not to forget a cup of warm tea. Credits: DD for the peanut soup and porridge, Kang for the spegetti, kerwin for the tea & choon sen for the chicken. Haha yeha yeah. For the morning, work = Sorting cutleries + stealing food + cleaning chairs + stealing food + washing ice cream scoops + walking ard + talking + stealing food + setting up + talking + stealing food + dinner.
Now for the night.. after dinner, we went up cleared some tables and set up the place properly for the start of the steamboat buffet. Haha I went to shit :p, then come out and talked for 5 mins then its starto!. Customers come in fast and go out fast. we finished clearing the tables at ard 9.30? which is the last round time. (ok except for two tables) Ohh, we talked and stole food happily @ the clearing station. Tubs of leftover ice cream was greedily scooped by everyone, each having a few spoonfuls. leftover cakes and brand new ones were given to us! (envious bao bao?) Chicken rice, ice kachang, ice cream, mango & choco cake, the peach pie?, (dono wad pie is tt) tom yum soup. Haha this time credits go to the chefs. After the little party, DD started to get high and wanted to teach cheers to joaquim. HAha. Ok she wants to organiZe a cycling trip sometime in november. (interested anyone?) Chat CHat chAT. Then wiped a few tables and it Off werk lo. Fast & Quick. Went home with a stomach full of yummy yum yums...
Ps: This is my schedule for nix week. Tues 3pm-8pm kpt, Wed 11am-9pm kpt, Fri 5pm-
10pm Jq, Sat & Sun 12am-10pm kpt. Wan to find me then come at this time. wan to go out

Chy asked me wads the price for Joaquim just now. so I thought this might be useful to
some of U out there who wans to try Joaquim. (bet ChY didn't remember the price too.)
